Ben Daley

Senior Associate

Ben Daley is a Senior Associate at Senet, advising clients across the sports and wagering sectors. He brings to the role a perspective shaped by two distinctive careers - one as a professional athlete at the highest level of the game, the other as a legal and compliance professional at the heart of Australian football.

Ben represented Australia as a Wallaby and spent eleven years in professional rugby, including as part of a Super Rugby Premiership-winning side. That career instilled the qualities that define his approach to legal practice today, including disciplined work ethic, composure under pressure, clear communication and a natural capacity for leadership and collaboration. During that time, he also completed a Bachelor of Laws at Bond University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice through the College of Law, gaining admission as a Legal Practitioner to the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Since retiring from rugby, Ben has built a strong legal and compliance career in professional sport, most recently serving as Head of Legal, Compliance and Venue Operations at the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL, advising the club’s Board and executive on governance, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk and major commercial matters. Ben also serves on a number of elite sporting judicial and disciplinary panels, including the World Rugby Judicial Panel,  SANZAAR Super Rugby Judicial Panel, and the Rugby Australia Tribunal and Code of Conduct Panel, where he adjudicates integrity and disciplinary matters across international competitions.

Ben brings a unique combination of legal, governance and operational experience, providing Senet’s sports and wagering clients with practical and commercially focused advice on navigating complex regulatory environments.
